Bike Club fan, "I Left My Heart at the Stage Door Canteen" Written by Irving Berlin, Vocals by Kenny Baker with studio orchestra. Recorded June 26, 1942. This song is about a fleeting wartime romance at the famous Stage Door Canteen located in the basement of the 44th street theatre near Times Square. The Canteen didn't sell alcohol, but it did serve two hundred gallons of coffee each night, and provide a place for allied soldiers of all ranks to mingle with the stars of stage and radio.
